Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.

 

Role purpose:

 

The Cloud Architect at the Cloud Platform, is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions based on business requirements, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Develop cloud architecture blueprints, including network design, data storage, compute resources, and security controls.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment of cloud initiatives with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate cloud services, platforms, and tools to identify opportunities for optimization, cost savings, and performance improvement.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Lead the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms, application integrations related to cloud computing.

 

Requirements:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture design, implementation, and management, with a focus on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in a multinational IT environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, public private, hybrid
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools (Bamboo, VSTS, TeamCity)
  • Experience implementing cloud security controls and best practices, including identity management, encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with major scripting/programming language (Python, C#, Powershell etc.)
