Software Maintenance Engineer

Your new company Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet. Your new role You will be responsible for the execution of software maintenance projects on distributed control system (Omnivise T3000) units. Software maintenance projects consist of the installation of application, system and security patches, officially released and tested by the Siemens Energy development department.You will be responsible for the ad-hoc implementation of corrective measures on control system units, to ensure software integrity and efficiency. You will be responsible for the installation and configuration of cyber-security software or architectural components, such as application whitelisting virtual machines, network intrusion detection systems and security information and event management tools. With your technical contribution, you will enhance the level of cyber protection of power plants.You will be responsible for the planning and coordination phases of software maintenance projects, ensuring the achievement of high-quality standards and leveraging synergies with end customers and regional Siemens Energy counterparts. You will be the first point of contact for software maintenance projects related to the Omnivise T3000 platform for our customers on a global scale.You will help make energy systems up to date, less vulnerable and more reliable.What you'll need to succeed Strong technical background, possibly but not necessarily by completed university studies in the field of Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.Solid technical skills in IT system administration, software installation and deployment, network topology and scripting.
