  • Provide assistance to the Head of Accounting with monthly financial statements for all Hungarian entities (currently 21) including balance sheet and income statement in accordance with Hungarian GAAP.  Provide consolidated financials for bank convents on a consolidated basis twice a year.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations both by entity and on a consolidated basis.
  • Assist the US controller with information required to prepare Hungarian GAAP to US GAAP adjustments.
  • Work with RSM to prepare intercompany transaction analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Work with Operations on intercompany billings, maintain a schedule of I/C billings, loan balances.
  • Review monthly capex, LOE and G&A accruals.
  • Review and facilitate monthly cash calls to our partners.
  • Communicate with the US headquarters on activity during the month, assist with requests for information from the US headquarters on an as needed basis.
  • Perform accounting research on issues related to the company's operations, including regulatory, tax, transfer pricing and other issues. Work with accounting, tax and legal advisers as needed.
  • Assist with annual audit by providing audit support, as required, to ensure audit deadlines are successfully met.
  • Supervise accounting staff to ensure their successful performance.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of the financial reporting process and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Seek constant process improvement opportunities and propose relevant process changes to improve efficiency, timeliness, and reduce redundancy of work.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities and assist in special projects as needed.

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • A degree in Accounting from a recognized institution.
  • Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent) certification is required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

  • Experience working with a Big 4 or regional accounting firm, particularly in audit roles, is highly desirable.
