Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled IP Network Engineer to join our team at Huawei Technologies Hungary Kft. in Budapest, Hungary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support services to customers independently or jointly with a technical support team.
  • Develop technical solutions and issue design documents, including HLD and LLD.
  • Provide detailed information on how to set up, configure, and upgrade Access Network Products.
  • Pre-sales support for testing, bidding, or holding workshops in the field of Fixed Access Network.
  • Track and solve all technical issues that appear during testing/workshop/bidding activities, provide necessary technical support and suggestions, and maintain good cooperation with customers.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and identify network/application issues.
  • Utilize various department tools, technical knowledge, and lab equipment.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the architecture of P, PE, and RR routers.
  • Desired understanding of telecom equipment.
  • Experience in resolving technical (hardware, software, and communications) malfunctions.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis in case of problems and recreate problems in a lab environment when requested.
  • Understanding of the OSI reference model and mastery of the basic principles of TCP/IP protocol.
  • Mastery of Ethernet/layer2 switching/Vlan principles.
  • Mastery of mainstream WAN link (PPP/POS and so on) working modes and application scenes.
  • Mastery of OSPF/ISIS/BGP principles, high-level characteristics, and complex application scenes, as well as route in port, route policy principles, and application scenes.
  • Understanding of MPLS L3VPN/L2VPN/VPLS principles.
  • Mastery of VRRP principles.
  • Understanding of basic network management protocols and mastery of basic SNMP principles and network management operating systems and common database commands.
  • Understanding of basic network security knowledge.
  • Mastery of MPLS TE protocol principles.
  • Mastery of QoS strategy formulation principles and key technology work principles.
  • Mastery of basic HA design theory and understanding of typical technologies (BFD/GR/FRR/FC) principles.
  • Knowledge of equipment characteristics, essential performance indices, card types, and common networks of several typical Datacom equipment (Router/Switch).
  • Mastery of simple service configuration (with principle correspondence) on routers/switches as well as debugging.
  • Mastery of upgrading and maintenance knowledge about several typical products.
  • Mastery of using methods of data collection tools, inspection tools, upgrading tools, and long-distance measure tools.
  • Mastery of typical network management system installation methods and equipment monitoring content and methods.
Education and Key Qualifications:
  • Engineering bachelor's degree, telecom degree preferred.
  • CCNA qualification is mandatory; prefer Huawei/Cisco/Juniper certification.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Availability for occasional short travel periods for customer meetings.
  • Availability to work overtime if needed and adapt to the work schedule of the project's country.
