Role Description

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SAP FI/CO Consultant to join our Budapest-based team. This is a hybrid position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on modern SAP finance transformation projects for leading European organizations.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering FI/CO solutions that meet complex business requirements. You will work directly with finance leaders, controlling teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define processes, architect SAP solutions, and ensure that clients achieve strong operational and regulatory outcomes—including full compliance with Hungarian accounting, tax, and reporting standards.

This is a senior, client-facing position where you will take ownership of solution design, integration, testing, cutover, and post-go-live finance stabilization.

Responsibilities

As a senior member of the team, you will guide clients through all aspects of SAP Finance and Controlling:

• Lead workshops with finance, accounting, and controlling stakeholders to map requirements and design best-practice SAP processes.
• Configure FI modules (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking) and CO components (Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Profitability Analysis, Product Costing).
• Ensure compliance with Hungarian tax, accounting, and statutory reporting requirements, including VAT processes, electronic invoicing, ledger structure, and local financial closing obligations.
• Support integration scenarios across MM, SD, PP, EWM, and external financial or BI systems.
• Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams to deliver enhancements aligned with the architecture.
• Lead testing cycles, validate financial flows, and support the resolution of issues.
• Manage finance cutover topics, including balances, open items, cost center structures, and asset migrations.
• Provide strategic advisory to CFOs and finance managers, helping them modernize and automate financial processes.
• Mentor junior and medior consultants and ensure consistent delivery quality.

Qualifications & Skills

• 7+ years + of hands-on SAP FI/CO consulting experience in implementations or complex support environments.

Strong knowledge of:

• General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Asset Accounting
• Banking, payment processes, and closing activities
• CO-OM (Cost Centers, Internal Orders), Margin Analysis, Product Costing

Thorough understanding of Hungarian statutory requirements, including:

• Hungarian VAT processes
• Local tax calculation and reporting rules
• Hungarian chart of accounts structure
• NAV compliance, electronic invoicing, and statutory declarations
• Strong expertise in S/4HANA Finance innovations (Universal Journal, margin analysis, real-time integration).
• Proven experience leading workshops, influencing outcomes, and managing senior client relationships.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or IT.
• Fluent in Hungarian and English (German is advantageous).
