Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer III to lead the design and architecture of complex, large-scale machine learning systems. In this role, you will set the technical direction for how models are built, scaled, and operated across multiple services. You will define the end-to-end engineering architecture for new ML-powered products, making high-judgment trade-offs between system performance, cost, and latency. You will lead the technical design of ML platforms that serve multiple teams, ensuring scalability under load and cost efficiency. As a senior leader, you will mentor other engineers, conduct architectural reviews, and influence the organization's ML infrastructure roadmap.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• System Architecture: Lead the architectural design of distributed ML systems, including real-time inference systems and batch processing architectures.
• Scalability: Ensure the performance and stability of ML systems under high load, designing for fault tolerance and auto-scaling.
• Cost Management: Optimize cloud resource usage, balancing performance requirements with cost efficiency for owned ML systems.
• Technical Leadership: Lead architectural reviews for ML systems, defining reusable components and best practices for the broader team.
• Mentorship: Mentor SDEs and MLEs, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and influencing the organization's ML roadmap.
• Governance: Implement model versioning, governance, and reproducibility standards across the lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience with significant focus on AI/ML.
• Architecture: Expertise in building and scaling distributed ML systems and designing real-time inference architectures.
• Distributed Computing: Deep knowledge of specific ML infrastructure components and distributed frameworks (e.g., Ray, Dask).
• Optimization: Proven ability to optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost.
• Leadership: Experience leading technical designs and mentoring junior engineers.
• Fluency in English and Hungarian languages

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building proprietary ML platforms or significant contributions to open-source ML infrastructure projects.
• Deep understanding of hardware acceleration (GPUs/TPUs) and optimization.
• Experience with privacy-preserving ML techniques.
