RED Global, on behalf of a Key Client Partner in the US, is currently searching for Security engineer to join new projects delivering to a ERP company.

  • Role: Security Engineer
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Permanent Contract
  • Capacity – Full time – 5 days per week
  • Location – 1-3 days onsite per 2/4weeks – Budapest, Hungary
  • Language: English

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular security assessments, risk assessments, to identify and mitigate security risks across applications and systems.
  • Consult with the internal vulnerability management team to help analyze, manage false positives, and support the improvement of our existing runtime security scanning practices.
  • Create, manage, and resolve Jira backlogs related to security findings, exceptions, and risk items to ensure traceability and resolution.
  • Support the rollout and implementation of SDOL processes, including security process documentation, exception handling, and compliance alignment.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security requirements and controls into CI/CD pipelines, including tools for SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ITGründschutz).
  • Configure, manage, and optimize security tools and vulnerability scanners to improve detection accuracy and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software security, DevSecOps, or application security engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of security tools and methodologies: SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanners (Tenable/Nessus, Rapid7, Aquasec Trivy).
  • Experience with SIEM systems (Splunk or Elastic)
  • Understanding of compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ITGründschutz).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex security findings into actionable plans.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native application development, containers & Kubernetes
  • Development experience in Python and/or Golang
  • Exposure to one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), or with Openstack
