Mission

We have a fantastic opportunity in our Innovation & Technology (IT) team as a Business Intelligence (BI) Data Analyst based in Budapest, Hungary. In this dynamic role as a Data Analyst, you will contribute to the growth and success of our business by providing the skills, tools, and insights to our teams. You will gather and analyse data using a comprehensive toolset to generate information that provides our business leaders with accurate data and insights they need to make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build the foundations of a modern analytics practice at Calderys 

  • Support data-driven & analytics use cases (predictive, AI, ML…) in close collaboration with business users across all regions and departments

  • Help identify the business data needed to produce the most useful insights and future analytics

  • Roll-out reliable and efficient analytics solutions by leveraging a modern data platform

  • Perform in-depth statistical analysis, manage large data sets and develop visualizations to communicate findings

  • Create sophisticated and intuitive statistical, business intelligence and data science tools which provide insights and direction to the management and executives

  • Bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data, design, and present it in ways to help business leaders make better decisions

  • Apply best practices to design, implement and improve end-to-end processes around performance measurement, analytics, and insight delivery

  • Collaborate with technical or functional experts at all levels, company-wide, to obtain requirements and develop solution proposals

  • Synthesize analytic findings into clear communications to share with key stakeholders

  • Ensure analytics solutions are maintained and constantly improved

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in BI and/or Data Science with a proven record of creating complex modelling and ability to conduct analytics

  • Ability to design and create data visualizations that are intuitive, informative, and impactful 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize findings from analyses into clear, concise communications for business leadership

  • Experience in different project environments, driven by different methodologies, e.g. Agile, Waterfall

  • Strong knowledge of languages such as Python and SQL

  • Knowledge and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, PBI), relational databases, data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric…) is a plus

  • Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data using relational databases (on-prem or cloud based)

  • Fluency in English

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company

  • Conversant in Hungarian or another European language would be advantageous.
