Job Summary and Purpose

Responsible for the automation strategy in Engineering projects: Capex, Maintenance

Scope: all industrial and research facilities of our pharmaceutical manufacturing partner.

Responsible for supporting the design and execution of one or more simultaneous projects in accordance with project plans, company policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Responsibilities and Key Duties

  • Establish digital and automation strategy and guidelines for buildings, processes, and equipment technical specifications.
  • Propose technical solutions to achieve the appropriate level of automation in Capex projects aligned with business cases and project charters.
  • Participate in all project phases: engineering (basic and detailed), procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning/start-up.
  • Coordinate and review engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare regular automation project status reports and manage change orders.
  • Manage budget and planning for automation projects.

  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate technical and management aspects of projects.
  • Ensure successful completion of engineering projects.
  • Maintain extensive regular contact with project stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing engineering project proposals.
  • Monitor budgets and track trends.
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and resolve project issues.
  • Ensure effective communication between engineering teams and stakeholders.

Technical / Functional Competencies

  • Experience in design and use of systems involving PLC, SCADA, Distributed Control Systems (Siemens preferred).
  • Experience with robotics solutions: classical 6-axis robots and cobots.
  • Broad understanding of automation and digital engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in food, pharma, or biotech industries is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Language:
    English native or fluent.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Master of Science degree in engineering.
  • Work Experience:
    Minimum 7 years, with at least 5 years as a project team member or project manager.

Travel Requirements

Approximately 15% travel: supplier visits in the USA or abroad, participation in seminars and department meetings internationally.
