About the Role

This is a full-time on-site role for a
Head of Finance
located in Budapest, Hungary, at
Pay10 EU
.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all the financial, accounting and controlling tasks, preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing finance operations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Additional day-to-day tasks include developing internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage the finance function from the ground up, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting systems.
  • Develop financial models and forecasts to support fundraising, growth planning, and decision-making.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define financial strategy and monitor company performance.
  • Oversee cash flow management to ensure sufficient runway and operational efficiency.
  • Implement scalable financial processes and tools as the company grows.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and financial regulations.
  • Manage financial risk and provide financial insights for strategic initiatives such as market expansion or product launches.
  • Build and lead the finance team as the company scales.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance or related field
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in finance and controlling
  • Experience in financial sector in Hungary (bank, payment, etc.)
  • Fluent Hungarian and English
  • Finance&Accounting and Financial Controlling, skills
  • Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Experience in Financial Reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools
  • At the beginning ability to work independently and handle all financial and controlling tasks functions
  • Experience gained in the fintech field is an advantage
