POSITION: Cabin steward / stewardess

DEPARTMENT: Hotel Department

REPORTING TO: Hotel Manager

WORKING LOCATION: The workplace is on board the vessels managed by Scylla Gastro

Qualification and Profile

• Preferably experienced within the hotel industry and/or previous (river) cruise ship experience.

• Outstanding skills and experience in this role with strong customer focus

• Outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication, listening skills

• Stress resistant, calm under pressure, resilient, team player with positive appearance.

• Open minded and flexible with high social, interpersonal and cultural competencies

• Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages as German is an advantage.

• Professional attitude and appearance, reliable and hard-working with great team spirit

• Must work independently

• Being representative of Scylla´s values

Key Responsibilities and Duties

➢ Assisting guests on embarkation day to escort them to their cabin and help with luggage

➢ Cleaning staterooms in compliance with Scylla standards and hygienic guidelines

➢ Cleaning all public areas on board (incl. Crew area)

➢ Cleaning Laundry and store rooms

➢ Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms on a regular base in compliance with HACCP regulation and company standards

➢ Replacing towels, guest toiletries (amenities, glasses, toilet paper, etc.) if necessary

➢ Check and refill of the mini bar on a daily base

➢ "Turn-down" service on a daily base

➢ Distribution of onboard information material to the staterooms

➢ Reporting technical defects in the staterooms to the reception

➢ Assistance in the laundry an dish wash depending on the working shift schedule

➢ Assistance in the dish wash Adherence to cleanliness and hygienic regulations in compliance with HACCP and Scylla standards

➢ Compliance with the waste concept

➢ Stand by duty as needed

➢ Participation during inventories

➢ Careful handling of all provided equipment and inventory

➢ Knowledge of the ship and the respective daily program as well the name of passengers of the given section

➢ Guest services in general

➢ Support of other departments if needed (cocktail hour, snack service, coffee & cake, etc.)

Additional information:

➢ Additional tasks: participating/assisting with the loading, carrying the suitcases, keeping clean the messroom and your own cabin on daily basis

➢ Your purpose is to help and create a memorable experience for our guests

➢ Accommodation: shared room on board with one other crewmember (on some ships with more than one)

➢ Uniform: is provided by the company: before arrival the crewmember has to make sure to take black trousers, white shirts, black shoes with him in case the uniform isn't on board yet

➢ Demonstrate a good safety awareness and participation in the safety drills

Contract type: Swiss

Gross / Net salary: €2500,00 / €1869,90 (depending on your personal situation)

Vacation days: 90 free days per calendar year pro rata (= 7.5 days per month pro rata)

Tip money: fixed and included in the salary.

Start date: to be advised.

End date: unlimited
