As a Visual Content Developer at Cloudera your main focus is to let your curiosity drive you. You will use your passion and knowledge to create precision-crafted visual resources that bring simplicity and clarity to our technical content and documentation. Cloudera helps customers manage the lifecycle of their data, from the edge to AI. Our hybrid data platform delivers unprecedented value to our customers and is key to our overall strategy and success. We need an experienced and talented visual content developer to drive improved content and technical resources that support the Cloudera Platform & services.

You will be contributing to the full content and documentation process, delivering visual artifacts, diagrams and resources, and also inspecting the quality of implementation. Partnering closely with technical writers, developers, product management, and engineering teams to deliver the most usable solutions possible. Additionally, you will work closely with the entire content and design teams to improve our process, our design system, and our team culture. The culture of the Cloudera Content team is human first, we actively seek to grow each person's career through outside education and candid compassionate feedback from other experienced designers.

As a Visual Content Developer you will:

  • Work on high-profile projects in the global content development team

  • Design, create, revise and structure visual resources to assist product documentation development with an emphasis on developing technical diagrams

  • Collaborate with content developers, software developers, support engineers, and product managers to ensure the accuracy of the visuals developed

  • Drive visual content initiatives

  • Provide guidance on visual content development to the global content development team

We are excited about you if you have: (Required Experience)

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in (visual) communication/English/technical field

  • Fluent English skills (both verbal and written)
    Interest in technical subjects

  • High standards for quality and accuracy of own and others' work
    Analytical thinking

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a broad range of professionals

  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively
    Motivation and ability to work independently

You might also have experience with:

  • Experience developing technical diagrams

  • Good visual design skills (in-depth skill of making visual representations of textual content)

  • Experience with illustration and video creation tools including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite or Camtasia

  • AI x Design tools and processes

  • Visual design principles

  • Color theory fundamentals 

  • Markup languages

  • XML/DITA authoring tools

  • UNIX/Linux environment

  • GitHub
