We are looking for a Supply Planning Improvement Manager to join our team and play a key role in advancing Diageo's digital and supply chain excellence journey. About The Role
The Supply Planning Improvement Lead (DRP/MPS/MRP) plays a pivotal role in advancing Diageo's digital and supply chain excellence journey. This position is responsible for driving digital adoption, change management, process improvement, data governance, and quality, while providing leadership and fostering collaboration across the Africa supply teams.

As the category expert for sophisticated supply planning, you will ensure system functionalities meet business needs through training, troubleshooting and adoption support. You will also complete global master data standards and governance frameworks, ensuring master data is accurate and follows global standards.

Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with stakeholders across planning teams, global process owners, project teams, and planning & logistics teams to maintain data integrity and drive continuous improvement throughout the function.

Key Responsibilities Will Include
Systems & Digital Adoption

  • Key User for Digital Tools: Serve as the primary liaison between planning users and global teams, ensuring seamless functionality, troubleshooting issues, and participating in global and local Key User Networks.
  • Drive Adoption and Effectiveness: Promote best practices to enhance tool usage, monitor compliance with governance standards, and proactively address deviations to maintain operational efficiency and system accuracy.
  • Train and Support Users: Enable teams to adopt new tools through training, guidance, and ongoing support, improving capabilities and adoption.
  • System Improvements: Lead system enhancement initiatives, define priorities, engage stakeholders, and ensure successful adoption.

Change Management & Process Improvement

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyse process performance, identify improvement opportunities, lead enhancements, and implement waste prevention programmes using root cause analysis. Develop and roll out training and documentation for new processes/tools.
  • Supply Chain Maturity Assessment: Lead initiatives to improve functional maturity, conduct loss analysis, and ensure global standards are maintained.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish Data Governance Framework: Define policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across planning tools and teams. Ensure parameter settings align with global standards, operating strategies, and SLAs.
  • Monitor and Improve Data Quality: Define metrics to assess data quality, conduct regular audits, implement corrective actions, and translate business requirements into effective planning parameters and processes.

Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Optimize Planning & Execution: Define planning strategies, coordinate business transformation initiatives, and ensure seamless integration of data and systems across teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, assess planning capabilities, standardise processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective Change Management: Define and implement change management strategies to support smooth adoption of new processes and tools.

About You
You are a passionate and driven supply chain planning professional with a strong focus on systems, digital technologies, and operational excellence. You thrive in fast-paced FMCG environments and enjoy inspiring change, improving ways of working, and collaborating with diverse teams across geographies.

Key Attributes

  • Experience in supply chain planning (ideally in DRP/MRP/MPS) within FMCG and knowledge of tools such as SAP, OMP (beneficial).
  • Strong planning systems and process knowledge, with an ability to optimise workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Own initiative and proactive approach to work, with the ability to challenge, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Passionate about digital systems, driving adoption and continuous improvement within teams.
  • Experienced in building capability, promoting best practices and influencing stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Skilled in relationship-building and teamwork across diverse geographies and cultures.
  • Flexible, agile and resilient, able to work effectively in ambiguous or unstructured environments and solve complex problems.
