Your 3-month transition roadmap

Month 1 – Python & Data Foundations

• Learn Python for data engineering

• Get hands-on with Databricks and cloud environments

• Build small-scale data processing scripts

Month 2 – Data Engineering Core

• Master ETL pipeline design with Spark & SQL

• Work with Delta Lake and optimize big data queries

• Practice on internal sandbox projects

• Get feedback through internal technical interviews to track your progress

Month 3 – Applied Projects & Certification

• Shadow real client projects

• Deliver your first DE tasks with mentoring

• Option to earn a Databricks certification

What will you do after completing the program?

Upon successfully completing the program, you will work as a Data Engineer consultant with our EMEA customers to help them solve their data engineering, AI, and cloud migration puzzles. You will be expected to deliver data & AI projects across industries - individually or by leading small delivery teams.

Although we work for the biggest multinational companies, where years-long behemoth projects are the norm, our projects are fast-paced, typically 2 to 4 months long. Most are delivered using Apache Spark/Databricks on AWS/Azure and require you to manage the customer relationship directly, alone or in collaboration with a Project Manager.

Additionally, given your seniority, we'd expect you to compound your impact across the team and the organization over time by mentoring more junior engineers, helping others undergo a similar transition as you did, or contributing to hiring best-in-class data engineers.

What does it take to fit the bill?

• Java expertise and strong software engineering foundations

• You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Java Developer and are eager to build on that foundation in the data engineering space. You're also fine letting go of Java in favor of Python and Databricks.

• Cloud exposure
  – You have worked in production with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and are comfortable navigating in cloud-based environments.

• Consultant mindset
  – You enjoy working closely with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering optimal solutions that serve their needs and make a real impact on their business.

• Communication skills
  – You can easily and clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Problem-solving
  – You take ownership in challenging situations, think critically, and bring a solution-driven mindset when facing a roadblock. Furthermore, you are at ease with switching contexts often and delivering under pressure.

Compensation

The gross salary for this position ranges from
gr HUF/month for a Medior
and from
gr HUF/month
for a Senior role, depending on your assessed seniority level during the selection process.
