Job Purpose:

The Country Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Orion Pharma's operations in Hungary. This includes strategic planning, business development, team leadership, compliance, and ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and the ability to foster a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the country strategy in alignment with regional and divisional goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities and lead market expansion initiatives.
  • Operational Management of the country operation.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Team Leadership 
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing local team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement by represent the company with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government bodies.
  • Ensure strong internal communication with regional and global teams.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to local laws, corporate policies, and ethical standards.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.

Requirements:

  • Medical, pharmaceutical, biological or commercial education
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a senior leadership role, in the pharmaceutical sector
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and delivering business results.
  • Strong understanding of the Hungarian market and regulatory environment.
  • Fluent in Hungarian and English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent understanding of European generic business. Familiarity with applicable regulatory and compliance guidelines governing the generic business .
  • Profound understanding of hospital organization, medicine procurement in hospitals, healthcare distribution channel, and healthcare environment
  • Ability to prepare and present reports and support business case building
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

  • Good collaborational skills for internal collaboration and to build business relationships with external customers
