Manual QA Engineer

About the Role

You will be an integral member of the AquiData team, which is part of the Software Engineering Department as a QA representative and will be working closely with team members and stakeholders from both our London and Budapest offices.

You will take ownership of the QA tasks and processes in the scrum team and be responsible for testing our reporting and analytics systems to ensure they work flawlessly and provide valuable and accurate data for our Business Intelligence, Finance and various business teams. You will work closely with Stakeholders and QA team members to define and run complex test cases, get involved in automation and take a crucial role in making sure we can deliver the best reporting and analytics solutions to the biggest mobile games on the market.

Main Responsibilities

• Ownership and responsibility for ensuring the delivered product and service meets agreed quality standards - managing QA processes and activities accordingly to ensure agreed objectives are met
• Being a voice inside scrum events to represent the QA perspective
• Identifying and recommending remedial action as and when required if deficiencies are identified in QA processes, ways of working or tools
• Being a centre of excellence inside the allocated team and actively working with the QA Leads to improve and optimize the QA aspect in that team.
• Participate in the ongoing testing efforts in the allocated team as a dedicated tester and take part in ongoing synchronisation with the whole QA team
• Design test cases and test plans
• Executing - or driving the execution of - test plans, raising and investigating bugs, validating the fixes
• Prepare test systems and data to support easy execution of planned test cases
• Initialize exploratory testing sessions if and when necessary
• Coordinate with 3rd party testing teams if necessary
• Provide management with QA reports demonstrating product quality and readiness for production
• Participate in improving test coverage and reducing risk factors during the release of stories, new games or game versions, and identify new tools and ways of working
• Work with the dedicated team to improve the software delivery pipeline
• Measure software quality and ensure it is maintained and improved over the lifetime of the product
• Take part in designing and implementing test automation

Required Skills and Experiences

• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in English
• Proficient with Windows, Google Suite,
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a testing role
• Proactive attitude - being able to analyze, improve and take responsibility for the QA processes inside the dedicated team, synchronizing with QA Leads and other QA team members dedicated to other teams on how to maintain the best test coverage possible and high software quality
• Experience using test case management tools and bug tracking software e.g. Jira, Testrail
• Experience working with Android devices or having a better than average understanding on them.
• Experience working with large and complex sets of test cases
• Previous experience in high-paced environments is a strong plus
• Desirable Skills and Experience
• Experience working within a SCRUM / Agile framework
• Experience with Android testing tools such as Espresso, Selenium, Cucumber etc. is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Linux/UNIX and associated command line and scripting tools
• Basic level experience with MySQL, HeidiSQL/Workbench and the ability to query and manage databases/views

• Passion for technology, digital technology, mobile games and mobile devices, preferably within the Android space
• Critical mindset and strong problem-solving ability
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously without close supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to swiftly operationalize abstract concepts into actionable plans
• An innate ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions based on available information
• Enthusiastic and optimistic mindset, proactive approach to solving problems, involving the right people in a timely manner to do so, being able to communicate with Stakeholders business (product owners, developers, sales, etc.)
• Strong ability and willingness to learn
• A passion for delivering high-quality solutions
• Educated to degree level in computer science or related discipline, and/or significant hands-on experience in the field
