The Service and Infrastructure directorate is committed to achieving 100% continuity in ICT service delivery while maintaining a constructive and positive atmosphere. Within the Service and Infrastructure (SIN) division, the Cloud Server Provider department focuses on building and maintaining private cloud platforms. Additionally, the database team, also part of SIN, manages MS SQL, Postgres, Oracle, and ExaCC databases located in Belgian and Central European datacenters. This team develops and maintains all database components essential for stability and collaborates with various ICT parties to meet business needs. As a member of this team, you will oversee daily operations alongside colleagues in Hungary and Belgium. Furthermore, you will engage in projects that leverage your expertise in MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Postgres, which may include infrastructural upgrades or ICT/business initiatives.

What your job will be:

• Participate in the automation initiatives the organization is moving towards.
• Maintain all necessary technical components to ensure a stable and secure Oracle / MS SQL / PostgreSQL database environment.
• Follow security recommendations (both proactive and reactive) to minimize operational risk.
• Support teams with operational issues such as performance investigations and database stability.
• Adhere strictly to security policies and compliance requirements (authorized tools, access policies).
• Participate in the on-call rotation and be willing to work outside business hours (mostly planned interventions).

What we expect from you:

• 1-5 years of experience as database engineer.
• Experience in IT operations (Linux/Windows mixed environment).
• Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of database concepts (schema, table, index, backup, etc.)
• Problem-solving mindset and structured approach.
• Willingness to learn and grow in DBA responsibilities.
• Ability to work under pressure with operational systems.
• Strong organizational and self-management skills.
• Team player, but also capable of working independently.
• Prepared to work outside business hours when required.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL administration.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (OEM, Checkmk)
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure or OCI)
