WORKING LOCATION: The workplace is on board the vessels managed by Scylla Gastro

Qualification and Profile

• Preferably experienced within the hotel industry and/or previous (river) cruise ship experience.

• Outstanding skills and experience in this role with an extensive hands-on experience

• Excellent management, organizational, inventory and decision-making skills

• Outstanding verbal and interpersonal communication, listening skills

• Strong time management, leadership and organisational skills

• Able to train crew members, able to build up the trainings and drive the change and look for operational efficiencies across the ship

• Guest focused, stress resistant, calm under pressure, resilient, team player with positive approach

• Open minded and flexible with high social, interpersonal and cultural competencies

• Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages as German is an advantage.

• Professional attitude and appearance, reliable and hard-working with great team spirit

• Must work independently, good computer skills (Excel, Word, PPT)

• Reliability and physical stamina to stand for long period of time are an advantage.

• Technology skills with excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PPT)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for the entire restaurant and bar area (incl. bistro / lido) as well as service on the sundeck and the beverage storage according to Scylla standards

• Responsible for the professional serving and presentation of the entire F&B offer on board according to company standards

• Responsible for guest satisfaction and the corresponding ratings

• Responsible for flawless cleanliness, order and compliance with the Scylla hygienic concept according to HACCP regulations in the restaurant and bar area as well as regular general cleaning

• Responsible for dealing carefully with foodstuffs, equipment, machines and cleaning agents

• Help create and implement F&B activities and events on board

• Responsible for check-in and check-out of the restaurant/bar crew during all meals

• Final responsibility for the separation of waste in the restaurant and bar area

• Presence in the restaurant during breakfast, lunch and dinner

• Active assistance in the restaurant and bar as well as on the sundeck

• Responsible for the table seating reservations if required

• Preparation of inventories and orders for the restaurant and bar

• Acceptance and control of goods delivered for the restaurant and bar as well as correct storage

• Responsible for team-building and team spirit in the restaurant and bar (role model function)

• Fair and equal treatment towards all crew

Managing and training the restaurant and bar crew and ensuring of follow up

• Daily team briefing / menu briefing as well as working in of new crew

• Support, training and mentoring potential (crewmembers on their way to management positions), in consultation with the Hotel Manager and Hotel Operations Manager

• Responsible for the behavior and appearance of the restaurant and bar crew, including dress code during spare time on board

• Responsible for the compliance with safety guidelines in the entire restaurant and bar area

• Maintain good relations and communications with all other departments

• Honest and open communication with all internal and external colleagues and third parties

• Competent human relations and cooperation with the cruise director as well as the navigation crew

• Professional and friendly guest service according to Scylla standard

• Responsible for the operational part of the hotel in case the Hotel Manager is absent and there is no Ass. HM

Additional information:

➢ Additional tasks: participating/assisting with the loading, carrying the suitcases, keeping clean the messroom and your own cabin on daily basis

➢ Your purpose is to help and create a memorable experience for our guests

➢ Accommodation: shared room on board with one other crewmember (on some ships with more than one)

➢ Uniform: is provided by the company: before arrival the crewmember has to make sure to take black trousers, white shirts, black shoes with him in case the uniform isn't on board yet

➢ Demonstrate a good safety awareness and participation in the safety drill

Contract type: Swiss

Gross / Net salary: €3300,00 / €2585,85 (depending on your personal situation)

Vacation days: 90 free days per calendar year pro rata (= 7.5 days per month pro rata)

Tip money: fixed and included in the salary.

Start date: to be advised.

End date: unlimited
