We are looking for a Senior Program Manager (Energy consultancy) to join our UK-based energy consultancy partner as they expand across continental Europe. (office will be in Budapest – home office around 50%)

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Cooperates with internal stakeholders, like product development, and works closely with the tendering and trading team
  • Has a specific market knowledge- electricity and gas portfolios across several European markets, and leads market expansion to new geographies operationally using this experience.
  • Directly responsible for the operational service delivery of standard and bespoke services, including energy forecasts, validation reports, bespoke reports, and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Participates in or leads various high-value consultancy projects related to on-site generation, PPAs, etc.
  • Serves as a subject-matter expert for internal and external stakeholders in 3–4 European energy markets. (Western European mostly)
  • Gather and codify existing market knowledge, monitor market trends and regulatory developments to stay up to date on your owned markets.
  • Participates in or leads projects focusing on knowledge management, product development, and business process improvement.

Requirements;

  • Be available for 3-4 business trips per year to maintain Customer and supplier relations in person, attend conferences or company events.
  • Proficiency – written and spoken – in English and preferably at least one more from the following languages is a must: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, and Polish.
  • Good project and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently to achieve agreed goals, proactively managing owned responsibilities and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to present complex topics concisely, both internally and externally.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an energy sourcing, procurement, risk management, trading, reporting, and/or market analyst role.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and break down complex problems, propose and implement solutions to resolve them.
  • Strong understanding of at least two electricity or gas markets in the following geographies: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Scandinavia.

Advantage;

  • Advanced skills in Excel or Power BI.
  • Experience working in any consultancy role.
  • Experience working on projects related to PPAs, BESS, on-site generation, or any other demand-side projects.
  • Experience working with data centres on energy projects or services.
