About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to manage accounting, reporting, and

compliance for Foodapest Kft and a small group of related entities in the region. The role

suits someone comfortable owning the full finance function and improving processes as we

grow.

Key Responsibilities


• Full ownership of monthly/annual reporting, management accounts, and cash-flow

forecasts


• Oversee bookkeeping, invoices, payroll, tax filings, and statutory compliance for Hungary

and other entities


• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors


• Build reliable financial processes: cost control, budgeting, P&L tracking per business line


• Support directors with financial analysis, pricing, and business cases


• Manage payment runs, banking relationships, and treasury


• Prepare investor-ready reporting and support funding applications when needed

Requirements


• 3–6 years of experience in accounting/finance, ideally controlling for SMEs or multi-entity

setups


• Knowledge of Hungarian accounting and tax rules (or similar Eastern EU regimes)


• Comfortable working directly with owners/founders


• Strong Excel/Sheets skills


• English required; Hungarian or other regional languages are a plus


• Accuracy, reliability, and ability to work independently

Nice to Have


• Experience in hospitality / tourism


• Experience with VAT across EU markets


• Familiar with cloud accounting tools (Xero / QuickBooks / SAP)
