Product Security Architect (Senior Manager)

Summary:

The Product Security Architect will be responsible for assessing the security controls in product environments and application development processes. This role enables the business and development groups to ensure appropriate Security Architecture is designed into all Cognizant products. Product Security’s goal is to continuously improve product security posture in alignment with Cognizant’s security policy and standards through education, integration, and inspection.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Provide guidance and support on product direction to ensure security is built into the design.

·       Advise and educate development groups on security process. 

·       Manage escalations related to review of application / architecture designs to find deficiencies in security. 

·       Foster better security culture through encouraging teams to be onboarded into a common development pipeline or CI/CD.

·       Identify security gaps as it relates to established security standards and polices.

·       Explain practical risks and real-world implication associated with security findings or observations. 

·       Communicate so the business can and will understand the value of security to prioritize security more effectively.

 

Basic Qualifications:

·       A minimum of (8) years of information/cyber security experience, preferably with relevant experience in the following subject areas:

o   Application Security

o   Container Security

o   Secure Software Development Lifecycle

o   DevSecOps

o   Cloud Security Architecture

o   Governance, Risk, and Compliance

o   Threat and Vulnerability Management

o   Security Information Event Management

o   Identity and Access Management

o   Incident Response / Handling

·       Familiarity with secure architecture, design principles, and best practices with an emphasis on implementation of security controls in a hybrid infrastructure.

·       Practical knowledge of treating risks using common infrastructure/security controls.

·       Broad knowledge to deep knowledge of common and critical application security risks.

·       Ability to influence action within a matrixed organization and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

·       (10) or more years of relevant information/cyber security experience.

·       Big4 IT/risk management consulting /advisory experience.

·       (3) to (5) years of application development or application engineering experience

·       Prior experience working in an Agile environment.

·       Industry standard vendor-neutral information security (CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, CISM, CRISC) and/or vendor-specific enterprise architect/security architect certification (TOGAF Foundation, Zachman, SABSA Chartered – Foundation)

·       Vendor-level Cloud certifications (Amazon, Microsoft, Google) are a plus.
