We are seeking a Network DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and automate network infrastructure, while also participating in operational activities.We are in the midst of a great transformation inside Global Cloud Infrastructure and Delivery Network Engineering, so flexibility within the team as we evolve is a must. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure to deliver exceptional support to our customers. The key service areas in our 24x7 high availability, high change throughput context are:
• Project Engineer: responsible for planning, design, implementation, and documentation of projects, as well as providing support during and after project implementation, including troubleshooting issues.
• Incident management: managing the next level of incident escalation beyond the help desk, and prior to support from the dedicated stack engineers.
• Change management: supporting the transition from manual to automated execution wherever possible, and supporting change planning and manual execution where necessary.
• Problem management: root cause investigation from a technology point of view, and the execution of corrective and preventative measures that arise from RCAs.
The successful candidate will participate in project planning, design, and change implementation, support complex change preparation and execution, operate and maintain data center cloud networks, track significant problems, monitor performance, and perform upgrades to hardware and software as required. They will also respond to and resolve alerts and tickets generated from the monitoring system and/or customer requests in a timely fashion, address continual improvement measures as a result of the problem management process, and assist senior support for deep-level incident troubleshooting.
Key Performance Measures:
• Projects are delivered in line with project quality standards.
• Ticket SLAs and KPIs are achieved.
• Escalation procedures, policies, and working practices are adhered to, and all records relating to Service Requests, Incidents, Change, Problems, and Knowledge Management are completed accurately and within defined SLAs.
What we require:
• Minimum 4-6 years of data center network infrastructure experience.
• Solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite required.
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including data center Cisco ACI, EVPN, VxLan switching & routing fabric, firewall, routers, switches, and load balancers.
• Strong knowledge across vendor network operating systems (e.g. IOS-XE, NXOS, IOS-XR, eOS, ) required.
• Strong knowledge of Data Center network technologies (Cisco ACI, VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, MPBGP, HSRP, VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, VLAN, VRF, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Network security experience is a plus.
• Experience with Network Automation (Ansible, Python or other scripting Languages)
• Experience with GitHub, Ansible, Grafana, Prometheus.
• Knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodology is required.
• A self-starter, able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills: Command of the English language is required, and dedication to the concept of Continuous improvement.
