Job Description
The Energetic Trader Position is part of our Technology Team, which is at the centre of BP's Group Strategy. We use data and technology expertise to improve efficiency, increase effectiveness and harness the transformational potential of digital technologies and new business models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advocating and leading in safety and security, promoting a culture of security and safety in everything that we do.
- Working with business and technology stakeholders to shape new features and projects, ensuring good quality estimation and project delivery.
- Mentoring and guiding a small team of analysts and software engineers throughout project scoping and planning, software development, quality assurance and post-delivery support.
- Collaborating with evolving multi-disciplinary teams including Software Engineers, Enterprise Technology Engineers, Designers, SecOps, and Product owners to deliver value through the application of specialist skills.
- Partnering with vendors and partners to optimize technology platform usage and value delivery.
- Ensuring operational integrity, assuring compliance with architectural and security standards, as well as policy controls refined by Strategy.
- Defining and documenting standard run books and operating procedures, creating and maintaining system information and architecture diagrams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
This role requires:
- A minimum of 7 years' hands-on experience implementing and extending features in an ETRM system.
- Deep knowledge of trading business covering front, mid and back-office processes.
- Experience working with fellow business analysts, operations and trading team members to elicit and define requirements, design and implement efficient application solutions.
- Implementing a test regime to ensure solution quality across the delivery.
- Collaborating with hybrid teams of delivery resources (internal & external), utilizing scrum methodology where relevant.
- Strong communication skills and high emotional quotient (EQ) with the ability to operate across complex business environments and customers up to executive level.
