FL Technics Wheels and Brakes (WBS) is part of this wider network of specialized maintenance shops with central operations based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The BUD site is dedicated to the repair and overhaul of commercial aircraft wheels and brakes, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, precision workmanship, and operational excellence.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Budapest. The Component Mechanic (C-R) plays a critical role in the maintenance and overhaul process of aircraft wheels, brakes and their substructure components.

This hands-on role in the production team is responsible for maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal company requirements. Daily tasks include inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing components to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The individual will closely follow technical manuals and regulatory guidelines, maintain detailed records of performed tasks and collaborate with team members to ensure operational efficiency.

Daily Duties and Tasks:

  • Carry out aircraft wheel and brake disassembling, cleaning, blasting, as well as their substructure components within the scope of authorizations.
  • Perform full assessment, logging, categorisation, whether in-limit or out-of-limit and rectification of damages and defects in accordance with approved data and technical documentation (CMM, SPM, AMM, SRM).
  • Declare and rectify all defects found during disassembling, cleaning, inspection, and assembling, within the scope of authorizations.
  • Complete the signing of technical documents and required inspection items on work sheets, job cards, or similar, within the scope of authorizations.
  • Use and strictly follow approved maintenance data, carrying out and signing off job cards within the scope of authorizations.
  • Determine and initiate necessary repairs on components.
  • Proper control, use and storage of tools and equipment, ensuring that all special equipment is used according to approved manuals and that sufficient qualification, knowledge, and experience are maintained.
  • Perform administrative support tasks, such as data entry into ERP systems (AMOS), within the scope of authorizations.
  • Support other production staff as necessary to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Comply with occupational safety, health, environmental protection, civil protection, and fire safety requirements, as well as internal company rules.
  • Assist other production staff as required to support team efficiency and timely component delivery.
  • Collaborate with other members .
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations, as well as internal quality and conduct standards.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and environmental controls.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Production areas.
  • Report tool/equipment defects or damage and coordinate with Tooling Team for calibration or replacement.
  • Attend daily team leader briefings and contribute to improvement discussions and root cause analysis if issues arise.
  • Take part in internal audits or quality checks as required by the team leader or designated Quality Assurance Team.

Qualifications

  • Min. 20 years of age
  • Min. 24 months current aircraft maintenance (Base/Line) or aircraft component maintenance experience.
  • Equivalent experience at other approved aircraft or component maintenance organizations will be accepted.
  • Relevant technical certification or diploma in aviation maintenance (MRO company training certificates are accepted/Hungarian technical school: Kossuth Lajos Két Tanítási Nyelvű Műszaki Szakgimnázium)
  • Proficiency in Aircraft Structures and/or Components.
  • Experience with Aircraft Maintenance, including inspection, diagnosis, and repair tasks
  • Strong understanding of Aircraft regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and compliance documents
  • Familiarity with aviation regulatory certifications (e.g., EASA Part-145) is an advantage
  • Mid-level English proficiency in both conversation and reading/writing.
