We are Scaling Experts Kft., a Budapest-based company focused on helping IT professionals and businesses scale their expertise, networks, and growth (particularly through platforms like LinkedIn and digital presence).

For an upcoming internal project, we are looking for an experienced Freelance WordPress Designer for a fixed-term, one-off collaboration lasting approximately 6 weeks. This is a remote, project-based role with flexible hours (estimated 20-30 hours/week, adjustable based on progress).

Project Overview

We need a complete redesign and rebuild of our company website ) using WordPress. The goal is a modern, professional, responsive site that effectively showcases our services, blog content, and expertise in IT scaling and business growth. The site should be clean, user-friendly, fast-loading, and optimized for SEO and mobile devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a custom WordPress theme (or heavily customize a premium theme like Astra, GeneratePress, or similar) based on provided branding guidelines and wireframes.
  • Create responsive layouts with a strong focus on UI/UX and visual appeal.
  • Integrate necessary plugins (e.g., for SEO, contact forms, security, performance optimization).
  • Set up page templates, custom post types if needed, and ensure easy content management.
  • Optimize the site for speed, security, and basic on-page SEO.
  • Migrate existing content from the current site.
  • Perform testing across browsers and devices, and provide final handover with documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Designer/Developer with a strong portfolio of modern, responsive websites.
  • Expertise in HTML5, CSS3 (including Flexbox/Grid, SCSS a plus), JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP basics for theme customization.
  • Proficiency with page builders (e.g., Elementor, Gutenberg, Oxygen) and popular plugins.
  • Good eye for design: clean typography, color schemes, and layout composition.
  • Experience with responsive and mobile-first design.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate progress regularly (via email, Slack, or calls).
  • Fluent English (or Hungarian as a bonus); reliable and proactive communication is essential.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with performance optimization tools (e.g., caching plugins, image optimization).
  • Basic knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with Figma or Adobe XD for design handoff.

Duration & Compensation

  • 6 weeks (starting ASAP, ideally early January 2026).
  • Freelance/contract basis – competitive hourly rate or fixed project fee (to be discussed based on experience and scope).
  • Invoicing in HUF or EUR.
