Our international financial institutions Partner is expanding its investment management team in Budapest and is looking for new colleagues to join as
Investment Controllers
. This is a newly forming local team, and we are seeking its first members who will actively collaborate with the international central unit on core responsibilities.

The company utilizes a wide range of financial instruments, and this role focuses on ensuring their accounting compliance with both international and local standards. In addition, the team provides solutions for the accounting treatment of complex transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings with a focus on investment-related activities
  • Evaluate and report on the performance of investment portfolios, including bonds, equities, funds, derivatives, and alternative assets (e.g., real estate, private equity)
  • Maintain and improve the internal control framework
  • Prepare forecasts and business plans in collaboration with the Investment Office and mid-office teams
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Assist in onboarding new investment structures, instruments, and business units
  • Prepare tax reports for alternative investments and risk-related reports (e.g., ART)
  • Communicate with business units and senior management, interpret and present financial results

Requirements:

  • Relevant university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Investment Management; postgraduate qualifications are a plus
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in a related field
  • Fluent English
  • Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) is an advantage
  • Prior experience with financial instruments is a plus
