UKI Cost ControllerJob Summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated and experienced UKI Cost Controller to join our Finance team (Controlling & Accounting). This role is a key part of the UKI Accounting team and is responsible for the financial control environment for the Iron Mountain United Kingdom & Ireland (UKI) entities. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate monthly accounting in local systems, managing group reporting, and playing a critical role in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing all costs related to building operations, maintenance, and workplace services.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the month-end closing and ensure all relevant reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) is completed accurately and within US reporting deadlines for the IRM UKI entities.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on all facility management costs (including rent, utilities, maintenance, and security) and prepare monthly/quarterly variance analyses comparing actuals versus budget/forecast.
  • Ensure compliance with IM group accounting policies; this includes performing and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations and implementing effective internal controls for the UKI entities.
  • Collaborate with the outsourced service provider, Audit & Tax Consultants, and the global SME to support the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and manage all related third-party relationships.
  • Perform risk analysis, review, and provide recommendations for business process changes necessary to address risks of financial misstatement, working with management and operational teams to implement changes.
What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, or local equivalent) certification.
  • Experience in managing a General Ledger close for a large multinational corporation and preparing Statutory Accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), with exposure to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance.
  • Proven ability as a proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, and experience working in a matrix organization or shared service environment.
