Mainframe Application Operation Management of a leading tech company has a global setup with members from Sweden and India to operate the Application Operation Management environment for all our Mainframe global Customers.

We are handling the application operation task to handle increasing business in our area. The team works during working office hours and provides oncall support 24/7 on a regular basis.

You will become a member of our Swedish team, you will be assigned to various tasks, both run-time and one time supporting shared services for our Customer for technical activities related to your expertise.

Mainframe Application Operation Management is part of the Mainframe area within HCLTech, with technical teams alongside us in various areas.

We are responsible for the streamlining of the mainframe Application Operation Management, tools, work methods, follow up, guidance and participate in resolutions of Major Incidents in the area. Working with incident and problem solving to provide maximum availability for our Customers and our mission is to give our Application Operation Management with the highest possible quality.

Our solutions give the Customer premium standardization and optimization of their internal and external high availability first environments.

Responsibilities

Application DB2 DBA:

  1. Db2 utilities for z/OS
  2. Db2 commands
  3. Db2 backup and recovery
  4. JCL
  5. Db2 UTS and non-UTS tablespaces
  6. CA tools for job scheduling and Db2 maintenance
  7. Db2 database administration for z/OS
  8. Db2 performance tuning and monitoring tools
  9. Db2 encryption for z/OS
  10. Db2 temporal tables for z/OS
  11. Performing Unload/reload of tables
  12. DB2 tables status check/correction
  13. Supporting Version upgrades (pre and post change verification)
  14. Db2 reorgs and database maintenance
  15. Executing DML Queries/SQL for creation, optimization and maintenance of Db2
  16. Db2 backup and recovery
  17. Db2 data sharing
  18. ITIL
  19. Full Data Refresh of subsystems
  20. DB2 – Reorg and maintenance
  21. Restore of programs/phases from USER1/2/3

IMS (DL1) DBA:

  1. Experience with administration of IMS Full Function, HALDB, Fastpath databases.
  2. Good knowledge on Restore, Reorg, Load IMS DB.
  3. JCL
  4. DBRC
  5. Create and maintain DBDs, PSBs, ACBs
  6. CA utilities
  7. Dynamic allocation
  8. IBM IMS High performance utilities
  9. IMS database utilities
  10. IMS Fastpath utilities
  11. IMS unload expert
  12. IMS pointer checker – IBM and BMC
  13. IMS encryption
  14. OSAM / VSAM creation and maintenance
  15. IMS database backup and recovery
  16. IMS performance and tunning guide
  17. FM / IMS
  18. Concepts of storage, security and networking for z/OS
  19. Full IMS system refreshes

Skills :

Education and / or Experience Recommended:

Bachelor degree in IT

Professional/Technical Competencies:

Mandatory:

  1. Db2 database administration experience for z/OS
  2. IMS database administration experience
  3. 24/7 On-call support availability on a shift basis
  4. Good knowledge of troubleshooting
  5. Fluency in English , both orally and in writing
