We're on the lookout for a passionate and experienced
General Ledger Team Leader

You'll lead a group of skilled accounting professionals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in every detail — while driving process excellence and continuous improvement.

Location:
in central Budapest with 3 home office days per week

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of GL Accounting Specialists
  • Oversee and ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
  • Supervise journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger activities
  • Monitor team performance, allocate tasks effectively, and provide coaching and feedback
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives
  • Partner closely with other finance teams and external stakeholders
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth
  • Take part in transitions, migrations, and transformation projects

What we expect from you

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or shared services
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in people management or team coordination
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, month-end processes and controls
  • Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
  • Organized, adaptable and always looking for ways to do things better
