VFX Artist

We're looking for a VFX Artist to join our creative team

As a VFX Artist at 3Sigma, you will collaborate closely with our in-house video editors and 3D artists to create, integrate, and enhance visual effects that bring our products to life. You'll be responsible for compositing live-action footage (including green screen shoots) with 3D environments, ensuring every shot aligns with the project's creative vision.

This position calls for a balance of technical expertise, artistic sensibility, and a forward-thinking approach to visual storytelling.

This is a full-time, in-office position located in the heart of Budapest.

Responsibilities

• Integrate green screen footage into 3D environments and live-action scenes.
• Perform colour grading to achieve visual consistency and the desired cinematic look.
• Collaborate with the 3D team to seamlessly integrate actors within 3D elements and environments.
• Work closely with the Director of Photography (DOP) to determine optimal lighting setups for VFX integration.
• Refine and adjust lighting within the final edit to ensure natural and cohesive composition.
• Utilize AI tools to generate or enhance specific parts of the video content.
• Execute precise tracking and rotoscoping to maintain realism and accurate compositing.
• Remove green screens and composite actors into 3D scenes as naturally and convincingly as possible.

Requirements

• Proficient in Adobe After Effects for compositing, motion graphics, and visual effects.
• Strong understanding of green screen keying, compositing, and rotoscoping techniques.
• Knowledge of color grading and matching live-action footage with 3D elements.
• Experience integrating actors into 3D environments, collaborating with 3D artists.
• Familiarity with tracking and camera stabilization for accurate VFX placement.
• Solid artistic sense for lighting, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work closely with DOPs, editors, and the creative team to achieve the desired look.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to solve technical and creative challenges efficiently.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with AI tools for content generation or enhancement.
• Basic knowledge of 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya) for easier collaboration with 3D artists.
• Understanding of video editing workflows and integration with editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
• Experience in motion graphics, particle effects, or procedural animation.
• Prior work on high-end VFX projects or commercial productions.

3Sigma Studios is a company creating video games that blend real-life footage with interactive gameplay. Our projects include escape games, multi-choice narrative games, and larger-scale titles. We develop our games using Unity and QML.

On the cinematic side, we have dedicated pre-production and post-production teams.

All filming takes place in Budapest in our green screen studio, and we handle the complete post-production process in-house, including editing, 3D compositing, sound design, and visual effects, before integrating the footage directly into our video games.
