Position / Assignment Purpose
Hardware laboratory engineer is the key position to manage and maintain R&D hardware laboratory environment & operation process for all equipments, tools, materials in a reliable, valid and efficient condition to support hardware development and testing. This role is critical in ensuring hardware component screening database to assist hardware component analysis for performance, reliability and regulatory compliance. The role is also intended to supporting failure analysis through precise component handling and close collaboration with engineering teams.
Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work
1 - Component soldering handling to support hardware design testing, debug, tuning to engineer team. Including fine-pitch BGA components (down to 0.35 mm pitch) using professional rework equipment.
2 - Replacing and modifying fine-pitch components on complex multilayer PCBs.
3 - Debugging hardware failures, identifying root causes, and supporting corrective actions.
4 - Maintaining laboratory equipment and infrastructure in an operation process, including calibration, inventory, and ESD safety compliance.
5 - Supporting baseband and RF engineers in hardware measurements, test setups.
6 - Assisting in engineering development tasks including prototype assembly, sample preparation&testing for customer.
7 -Documenting lab activities, rework procedures, and test results in collaboration tools and databases.
Required Education and Experience
- Proven experience in manual soldering/desoldering of fine-pitch BGA components (≤0.35 mm pitch).
- Strong understanding of PCB design, component placement, and rework techniques.
- Familiarity with electronics measurement devices (multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, VNA)
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, layout files, and datasheets.
- Experience with hardware debugging and failure analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor of Electronic technique or wireless communication background is preferred.
- Hardware Development, failure analysis, lab handling experience in electrical product or wireless product is preferred.
- 3~5 years work experience in hardware development or labotaory operation, measurement, maintenance is must.
- Good English communication skill in writing and verbally.
