Position Overview

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Managing Director (Dealer Principal) to lead the operations of a multi-brand, multi-site automotive dealer group in Debrecen. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing the full spectrum of dealership operations across new and used vehicle sales, aftersales, and customer service. The ideal candidate is a proven business leader with a deep understanding of automotive retail, capable of driving performance, profitability, and customer excellence.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and execute a growth-oriented business plan across all sites and brands


• Oversee day-to-day operations including sales, service, parts, finance, and administration


• Align dealership activities with OEM standards, business goals, and compliance protocols


• Lead a cross-functional team of 40+ employees, including department managers


• Drive a culture of performance, accountability, and customer-centric service


• Ensure consistent delivery of monthly KPIs, profitability targets, and brand expectations


• Collaborate with OEM partners on volume planning, marketing, and operational excellence


• Implement group-wide cost control and efficiency programs


• Handle key supplier and manufacturer relationships, negotiating terms and service levels


• Build and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty through service innovation


• Lead the launch or expansion of new brand sites or facilities within the group as required

Candidate Requirements


• Extensive experience in a Dealer Principal / General Manager / MD role within automotive retail


• Strong commercial acumen and P&L ownership experience


• Demonstrated success managing dealership operations


• Track record of team leadership, talent development, and succession planning


• Fluent in Hungarian and confident in English communication


• Resilient, structured, and strategic — yet willing to be operationally hands-on when needed


• Familiarity with OEM relationships, and dealership systems (e.g. DMS, CRM)


• Integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction and business growth
