System Administrator Job Description

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for the 24/7 operation and maintenance of our customers' systems, ensuring their smooth functioning and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provision and operate customer systems, ensuring their uptime and reliability
  • Perform regular system upkeep, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance
  • Analyze and resolve system issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and partners to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and colleagues, showcasing system capabilities and features
Work Schedule:

Our system administrator will work a rotating schedule, including:

  • 2 weeks in day shift (10am - 6pm with some flexibility)
  • 2 weeks in morning/afternoon/night shift
  • 1-2 days on-call on weekends

Our partner is a leading supplier of lottery products, with over 40 years of experience in research and development. They have a global presence, with over 170 employees in Budapest and a customer base spanning six continents.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in system administration
  • Strong knowledge of Linux Server systems and database management
  • Experience with application containerization and high availability solutions
  • Excellent English language skills, with good German a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field an advantage
