About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team at Flowserve Corporation. As a key member of our Global Engineering Services department, you will be responsible for performing in-depth structural mechanical and rotor dynamic analysis on all product lines, including valves, pumps, and seals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural and vibration engineering analyses on products to ensure design adequacy and compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Execute design modifications and optimize mechanical product design to meet customer requirements and internal procedures.
  • Define critical dimensions of products and components, and execute different types of mechanical analysis and reporting.
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis of pressure vessels and rotating equipment, and carry out finite element analysis (FEA) to determine stress, strain, and natural frequencies.
  • Review and evaluate customer specifications and supplier quotations related to technical acceptability of the mechanical design.
  • Assess FEA results against customer specifications, industry standards, and Flowserve design standards and procedures for fatigue life and dynamic stability.
  • Submittal of high-quality contractual documentation in accordance with customer/industry code requirements, such as ASME and present/discuss the results of the analysis with customers/stakeholders.
  • Compile design reports in compliance with ASME Section III and VIII Divisions 1, 2, and 3 code requirements.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and perform structural engineering activities in accordance with customer requirements, company objectives, and policies, and within established project budget and timeline.
  • Perform evaluation utilizing classical methods of structural analysis, thermal analysis, and manage structural design activities to ensure optimum cost effectiveness between quality, design, and manufacturing.
  • Conduct or participate in Root Cause Analysis to define corrective and preventive actions.
  • Technical lead of R&D projects dedicated to modify and develop product upgrades, develop design tools for product design modification, and automate the design and analysis process to improve analysis time.
  • Provide management with accurate and informative reports and evaluate the results of project assignments along with appropriate recommended course of action.
  • Participate in improvement and standardization activities such as Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma to improve operational performance.
  • Share information, knowledge, and experience within Flowserve.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7 or more years in applied structural mechanical analysis, specifically rotating equipment.
  • Background working within a customer-oriented working environment.
  • Knowledge of complex pump/seal/valve design, hydraulic drawings is a plus.
  • Fluent in the English language.
  • Extended knowledge of Microsoft office programs, 3D modeling software (SolidWorks), Finite element analysis packages (ANSYS), and ERP systems.

About You

You are a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and structural analysis. You have a proven track record of working in a customer-oriented environment and have a strong understanding of complex pump/seal/valve design and hydraulic drawings.

You are a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and are able to motivate people and continuously improve the safety culture and awareness. You are self-motivated and driven to meet schedules, and are able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
