Sr. IT Infrastructure Engineer

As a Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer with Certara, you are part of a global, fast-paced IT organization with the primary mission to provide capable & resilient world class services to professional services, software, and corporate business units ensuring our team members have access and ability to perform as the highest level in service of our customers.

IT Infrastructure spans multiple technical disciplines across data center, cloud, networking, security, systems, and endpoint technologies in the creation of a cohesive and integrated tech stack to support business growth globally. The Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer will be the owner of one of more technologies and support the mentoring of operations and service desk team members globally. This role is an active technologist; supporting the creation of operating procedures, maintenance routines and level 3 support will be daily operational responsibilities across technologies.

The role requires solid understanding infrastructure technologies and how to build for scale. This is a hands-on role but will also create documentation and controls procedures for an organization with key compliance requirements: SOX, ISO 9001 / 27001, SOC2, etc...

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Operations Management

• Action assigned operational procedures to support and maintain systems at peak capability in support of a growing enterprise

• Utilize management, capacity planning, monitoring tools to ensure continued functionality in a 24/7 operations
• Identify and resolve recurring | systemic issues and reduce repeat service desk incidents for area of technical expertise
• Provide level 3 technical support to service desk professionals and operations engineers to respond and resolve issues in agreed SLAs

• Manage and update design documentation to ensure ability to support a global team

• Research & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with business & technical teams to suggest areas where technology can improve operational effectiveness and efficiency

• Participate in and suggest system | service modification or re-architecture to improve capabilities and level of service to end users

• Execute projects using various technology solutions in an Agile framework

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in an IT operations or engineering role with medium - large organizations
• 10+ years working in IT supporting life sciences, professional services and/or software development organizations
• Experience with Windows, Linux, Mac OS & associated technologies in a heterogenous data center environment
• Diverse experience with backup and recovery solutions for on premise and cloud solutions
• SME level experience with monitoring and incident management systems

• Diverse experience with multiple technical stacks across vendors:

• Microsoft, VMWare, RedHat, Cisco, Citrix, AWS, Azure

• Networking & telecommunications management experience required

• Exposure to DevOps tooling for continuous integration & delivery required
• Scripting and automation experience in one of more languages recommended
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly communicate ideas and results
• Highly organized with ability to document technical systems with consistency
• Team player with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and resolve complex problems
