Requirements
  • Min. 2- 3 years' experience in the housekeeping department as a manager
  • Experience in 4* or 5* operations (Hotel and/or cruise ships)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of HACCP

Role and Responsibilities
  • Overall responsible for the smooth organization and running of the Housekeeping department
  • Ensuring maintenance of cleanliness front and back of house according to HACCP regulations including crew area and advise other Head of Departments if action is needed
  • Assisting the team with cleaning and servicing guests' cabins incl. turndown service and embarkation set up if needed
  • Welcoming and greeting of guests according to the Company standard
  • Providing professional and courteous service according to the Company standards and procedures
  • Overlooking and monitoring the distribution of material such as gift order
  • Ensuring active involvement in reaching higher guest satisfaction, including participating in additional Entertainment activities as per Company standard
  • Reaching cost, revenue and rating targets and implementing necessary improvements or actions if needed
  • Purchasing orders including equipment items and delivery control
  • Overall responsibility of uniform (issuance, controlling, returning)
  • Taking an active role in creating a positive environment between all departments onboard and encouraging an open and respectful communication
  • Distributing information within the team and exchanging information between departments
  • Ensuring proper welcome and introduction to the team of new joining crewmembers
  • Evaluating the Housekeeping team in assistance with the Asst. Housekeeper and providing feedback to crewmembers, including performance-enhancing action plans if necessary
  • Ensuring proper storage use
  • Preparing the duty schedule following legal requirements
  • Familiar with all itinerary-related ports of call and shore excursions
  • Preparing and monitoring the department's vacation planning following the ships overall vacation plan
  • Dealing with guest complaints and informing Hotel Manager if needed
  • In charge of pest control and monitoring action plans as per Company standard
  • Keeping a record of breaking list and monitoring amount of breakage and damage and notifying Hotel Manager if necessary
  • Reviewing cruise questionnaires and addressing tops and flops within the Housekeeping department, including taking appropriate actions if needed
  • Conducting regular briefings and meetings ensuring smooth information flow for the crew and participating in Head of Department-Meetings conducted by the Hotel Manager
  • Conducting frequent training sessions for the Housekeeping department
  • Reporting Lost & Found items and keeping in a secured area until handing over to Front Office
  • Overall responsibility for all guest and crew laundry handling, including externally ordered linen and uniform
  • Ensuring correct handling of all equipment chemicals and machinery
  • Responsible for fresh flowers and related guest requested
  • Participating in all Safety Drills as per Captain's orders and ensuring solid knowledge of designated Safety role
  • Ensuring the Housekeeping department has a full understanding of the designated Safety role, duties and in-port-manning
  • Reporting any potential Safety hazards immediately
Side Tasks
  • Participating in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings
  • Fulfilling further job-related duties as instructed by the Supervisor, such as luggage service, loading, and garbage off-loading
  • Assisting with monthly inventories as per Supervisor's instruction
  • Assisting other departments as per the Hotel Manager's instruction
Salary: starting salary in the first contract is 2.800€/month net

Contract type: Swiss, with all the benefits of the Swiss labour laws
