We are looking for a Senior Application Scientist to assist our European customers, who are concentrated in Western and Northern Europe and in the United Kingdom. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with informatics experience and a background in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a closely related domain.

As a Chemaxon Application Scientist, you will bridge the gap between the end user, our Sales organization, and our software development teams, analyzing customer needs to determine the optimum tools for achieving customer goals and workflows. You will drive the execution of technical sales during the entire consultative sales process, including the discovery of customer requirements, solution presentations, technical discussions, proof-of-concepts, and user training.
While our products are used by many industries, a key business focus is on Drug Discovery and Life Sciences; the knowledge of these sectors will be beneficial.

About your responsibilities

• Communicating with customers to understand their needs, assessing how Chemaxon solutions will help them
• Developing and delivering software demonstrations and technical trainings to customers with diverse backgrounds
• Translating between customers, the Sales team, and product development teams
• Acting as scientific/technical resource to our Sales and product development teams
• Conducting application studies using the company's software products
• Visiting clients with the Sales team
• Representing the company at scientific conferences and trade shows.

Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience 
• Experience in Chemistry research in an industrial or academic organization
• An M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, or a closely related science field
• Experience using Cheminformatics software solutions
• Ability to conduct studies independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English
• Willingness to travel up to 15%

Bonus skills that will help you hit the ground running

• Familiarity with the commercial drug discovery process
• Experience with databases (Relational Database Management Systems)
• Experience using scripting languages or workflows tools
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and solutions
• Knowledge of basic machine learning practices
• Technical presales experience
