Who are you?

• You're someone who sees risk not as a roadblock, but as a way to unlock smarter decisions. You've spent around a decade navigating the world of
  enterprise risk

  compliance
  , and
  governance,
  ideally in complex
  , international environments.
  Maybe you've worked in a Big 4 setting or advised fast-moving organizations. Either way, you know how to
  balance structure with agility.
• You're comfortable building things from scratch, influencing without formal authority, and
  translating frameworks
  like ISO 31000, COSO, NIS2, GDPR, and the AI Act into practical, business-friendly approaches. You speak the
  language of business
  ,
  IT
  , and
  finance
  fluently, and you know how to bring people along with you, whether they're in the boardroom or on the ground.
• You're based in
  EMEA
  and open to
  occasional travel
  . You communicate clearly in English, and if you speak other European languages, that's a bonus. Most importantly, you're ready to make an impact.

What will you be doing?

• You'll be
  delaware's first Chief Risk Officer / Head of Risk & Compliance.
  That means you'll be shaping a new function from the ground up—one that's pragmatic, collaborative, and genuinely useful to the business.
• Here's what your role will look like:
• Build a group-wide Enterprise Risk & Compliance framework
  that adds value, not paperwork.
• Establish governance and accountability
  across key areas like enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, and emerging regulations (think NIS2, AI Act, GDPR).
• Clarify and evolve our 1st/2nd line model
  , working closely with the CISO, Legal, and local Data Protection Officers.
• Support the Management Committee and Board
  with clear, forward-looking insights that help them make risk-informed decisions.
• Advise on risk appetite and control maturity
  , especially in major initiatives and strategic projects.
• Coordinate group policies and frameworks
  , making sure countries benefit from shared standards without losing local relevance.
• Deliver real value
  —showing that risk and compliance can be practical, enabling, and business-friendly.
• Act as a connector and coach
  , helping teams integrate risk thinking into everyday decisions (no checklists required).
• This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit in an ivory tower. You'll be working closely with country leadership, building trust, and making sure risk management is a shared responsibility, not a top-down mandate.

Is there a match?

• Around 10 years of experience

in Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, or Governance — ideally with a background in advisory or Big 4 environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of international regulations and frameworks

, including ISO 31000, COSO, NIS2, GDPR, AI Act, and ISO 42001.
- A strong grasp of professional services operations
, and the ability to connect the dots between business, IT, and finance.
- An entrepreneurial mindset
— you're comfortable creating structure from scratch, influencing without formal authority, and adapting quickly.
- Excellent communication skills in English
; additional European languages are a plus.
- Based in EMEA
, with flexibility for occasional travel to key countries.
