We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with strong PACE governance expertise to lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects across digital, software, workspace, and front-end/back-end platforms. This role sits within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and requires someone who is highly structured, delivery-focused, and confident driving accountability across cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will bring end-to-end project delivery experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to execute within PACE or similar structured governance frameworks.

Role Description

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering a range of technology initiatives - from consumer-facing digital experiences to backend system integrations and workplace technology improvements. You will own project execution, ensuring governance compliance, financial control, clear communication, and successful delivery against agreed milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple IT projects across digital, software, workspace, and platform engineering domains.
• Ensure full compliance with PACE governance, including tiering, assurance reviews, documentation, risk management, and change control.
• Build and maintain robust project plans, identifying critical paths, dependencies, and resource needs.
• Manage cross-functional teams including developers, UX/UI, infrastructure engineers, workplace technology, vendors, and product owners.
• Drive alignment between business and technology teams, ensuring clarity on scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Deliver consistent, transparent status reporting to leadership and PMO functions.
• Proactively identify risks and issues, implement mitigation strategies, and escalate appropriately.
• Maintain strict oversight of project budgets, forecasting, vendor spend, and commercial approvals.
• Oversee delivery of both consumer-facing digital work (websites, mobile, frontend) and backend system integration (APIs, middleware, cloud services).
• Manage workspace and end-user technology initiatives, including hardware refreshes, collaboration tools, and site technology upgrades.
• Ensure successful handover to BAU/Operations with proper documentation, training, and support transition.
• Uphold disciplined change control to prevent scope creep and safeguard delivery timelines.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as an IT Project Manager delivering varied technology projects (digital, software, backend, infrastructure, workplace tech).
• Strong knowledge and practical application of PACE governance (mandatory).
• Experience leading mixed-discipline teams across engineering, product, UX, digital, operations, and third-party vendors.
• Strong financial management skills—budget ownership, forecasting, cost tracking.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and senior-level reporting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-visibility programmes with multiple workstreams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Confident in managing both Agile and Waterfall (or hybrid) delivery models.
• Experience with digital/frontend projects, backend/API integrations, and workplace technology environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, ScrumMaster or equivalent.
• Experience in transformation programmes or multi-project portfolios.
• Background working in global or enterprise-scale organisations.
