Customs & Trade Specialist

We are seeking a motivated
Customs & Trade Specialist
to join the newly established team of a leading international chemical company.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in
import/export operations and customs compliance
within a truly global environment, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Main responsibilities:
- Support daily
import and export operations
, including customs clearance and preparation/review of related documentation - Ensure compliance with company policies as well as
customs and trade regulations
(tariff classification, origin determination, licensing requirements) - Work closely with
customs brokers, freight forwarders, and authorities
to ensure smooth and timely shipments - Maintain accurate trade and customs records in line with legal and internal requirements
- Monitor updates in customs procedures and basic trade compliance regulations, escalating issues where necessary
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (logistics, procurement, finance) to resolve operational questions and ensure compliant processes
- Support audits and internal reviews by providing documentation and data related to import/export activities
Required skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or related field (or equivalent experience
- 2–3 years of experience
in customs, import/export operations, or trade compliance - Familiarity with customs regulations, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
