A global financial services firm, known for its focus on cutting-edge technology and innovation, is seeking an
Data Analyst
to join its Budapest team. The company has a strong reputation for delivering advanced trading solutions, and this position plays a key role in ensuring compliance and risk monitoring within money movement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain documentation related to the calibration of both rule-based and machine-learning models for Money Movement monitoring.
  • Conduct annual reviews, testing, and fine-tuning of thresholds and parameters to ensure models effectively identify money laundering risks.
  • Perform beta testing of new models and modifications before live deployment.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise on necessary program adjustments.
  • Suggest improvements to reporting processes to close any identified monitoring gaps.
  • Carry out AML coverage analysis against regulatory red flags to strengthen the control framework.
  • Evaluate the quality of data used in model logic and machine learning models to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support implementation of projects related to monitoring systems and models.
  • Prepare documentation for model changes and collaborate with stakeholders on business requirements and impact assessments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Finance or another quantitative discipline.
  • Fluent english knowledge.
  • Solid background in machine learning methods such as regression, clustering, and decision trees.
  • Proficiency with
    Python, Pandas, Numpy, and NoSQL
    databases.
  • Hands-on experience in AML transaction monitoring and KYC modeling is an
    advantage.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations, risk assessments, system optimization, and tuning is an
    advantage
    .
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
