Qualification and Profile
• Preferably experienced within the hotel industry and/or previous (river) cruise ship experience.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the friendly and positive appearance
• Outstanding verbal communication, listening and telephone skills
• Stress resistant, calm under pressure, resilient, team player and with positive approach
• Open minded and flexible with high social, interpersonal and cultural competencies
• Problem-solving skills and dependability
• Attention to detail with strong customer service skill
• Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages as German are an advantage.
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PPT)
• Being representative of Scylla´s values
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Adhering the guide lines and SOP's for the reception area
• Professional guest service according to Scylla Standards
o Greet, welcome and direct guests and visitors in-person and on the phone
o Check in / check out
o Answering / transferring calls
o Forwarding relevant guest information to the respective department
• Sales of shop articles, partially with cash payments
• Printing and coding of cabin door keys
• Register passport and address details of guests and crew members in the POS BackOffice
• Write the daily menu properly, in cooperation with the Exc. Chef and Hotel Manager
• Responsible for taking orders during Welcome, Gala and Farewell Dinner
• Assistance during the payments
• Take and carry out wake up calls, special requests of the guests and any other updates
• Taking care of postal mail
• Assistance with preparation of inventories and orders
• Handling of excursions and possible accompany of the excursions if necessary
• Provide internet access and support where necessary
• "Follow up" of technical issues
• Making announcements in absence of the Cruise Director or Hotel Manager
• General administrative tasks as well as monitoring and maintaining the hotel material
• Making appointments for the Massage and hair dresser (if on board)
• Orderly handover of work to the next shift
• Responsible for cleanliness within the reception area, lobby and entrance in cooperation with the
housekeeping department
• Knowledge of the ship and the respective daily program as well as the sailing route
• Guest services in general
Additional information:
➢ Additional tasks: participating/assisting with the loading, carrying the suitcases, keeping clean the
messroom and your own cabin on daily basis
➢ Your purpose is to help and create a memorable experience for our guests
➢ Accommodation: shared room on board with one other crewmember (on some ships with more than
one)
➢ Uniform: is provided by the company: before arrival the crewmember has to make sure to take black
trousers, white shirts, black shoes with him in case the uniform isn't on board yet
➢ Demonstrate a good safety awareness and participation in the safety drills
Contract type: Swiss/Unlimited
Gross / Net salary: € 2600,00 / 1959,85
Vacation days: 90 free days per calendar year pro rata (= 7.5 days per month pro rata)
Tip money: fixed and included in the salary
