Role Overview

As an External Manufacturing Scheduler Specialist at Celanese, you'll lead the development of sophisticated production plans and material requirements for our toll manufacturing network. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production scheduling, analyze performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact our business results.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive production schedules and raw material requirements for external manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment with master supply plans and business objectives
  • Advanced Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of scheduling metrics, lead root cause investigations, and implement process improvements to enhance toller performance
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Serve as the primary liaison between supply planning, procurement, logistics, and external manufacturing partners to optimize production scheduling
  • Inventory Optimization: Strategically position products across multiple locations through stock transfer management while maintaining optimal inventory levels
  • Performance Management: Develop and track KPIs, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to achieve inventory and service level targets
  • System Expertise: Maintain and optimize scheduling master data in SAP and Blue Yonder, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with tolling partners to drive continuous improvement and resolve complex supply challenges
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations and/or supply chain planning with specific expertise in finite scheduling
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and Excel, with experience in planning systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and implement process improvements
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in both German and English
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across functions and with external partners
  • Resilient mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
