Our common goal 



We are seeking a Strategic Buyer with a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and materials sourcing in production environments. This role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers across the CEE region, with a particular emphasis on materials such as plastics, wood, metal, textiles, and leather.

Strategic Buyer will regularly engage with clients on-site, ideally three times per week. In addition, the position involves occasional travel to Szombathely to connect with internal teams and support collaboration across locations.



What you can expect 

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key materials in the CEE region.
  • Contribute to the new product development process by identifying suitable suppliers, ensuring material availability, and aligning sourcing strategies with design and production timelines.
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers, conduct audits, and negotiate contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with production, design, and logistics teams to align sourcing with operational needs.
  • Monitor market trends and supply risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Vitra's sustainability and quality standards.
  • Support the development of a resilient and scalable supply chain infrastructure in the region.

 How you can convince 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing or supply chain roles, ideally in production or manufacturing companies.
  • Strong material knowledge, especially in plastics, wood, metal, textiles, and leather.
  • Proven experience in supplier development and contract negotiation.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain processes in production environments.
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel across the CEE region.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
