IT License Manager based in our high-tech Budapest MOL Campus
The main focus of the role:
The
Group IT License Manager
is responsible to oversee and manage the licensing requirements and compliance for the organization's shared (i.e. not business unit specific) software assets (e.g. O365, Adobe, Microsoft products, etc.). The key aims of the position are to optimize license usage, minimize risks and to ensure cost efficiency across Group related to shared licenses.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies and processes to ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, including tracking, monitoring, and reporting license usage across the organization (experience with SNOW tool is an advantage)
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of software licenses, including license types, quantities, versions and expiration dates, using license management tools or software.
- Identify opportunities for license optimization by analyzing software usage patterns and collaborating with business units to streamline license allocation and minimize unused or underutilized licenses. Search for opportunities to consolidate / rationalize nr. of application and the related licenses used within MOL Group.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to acquire software licenses, negotiate contracts, and manage the renewal process to ensure continuity of license coverage and cost-effective license management.
- Establish and maintain relationships with software vendors, staying up-to-date on licensing terms, negotiating pricing and license terms, and resolving any licensing related issues or disputes.
- Develop and enforce license management policies and guidelines to ensure consistent adherence to licensing regulations and standards across the organization.
- Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks associated with license management, including non-compliance penalties, audit exposures, and legal implications.
- Coordinate and assist in license audits conducted by software vendors or external auditors, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with licensing requirements.
Main requirements:
- Educational Background:
- MA/BA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience:
- 6+ years of IT relevant experience,
- At least 4 years experience in license management, in a senior position
- Skills:
- Solid understanding on Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, and Cloud licensing principles (SAP is an advantage)
- Experience with license / software asset management tools (SNOW is an advantage)
- Advanced level MS Office knowledge
- Solid knowledge on IT Cost and TCO-based calculations
- Negotiation, problem solving and delegation competencies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to translate technical information into formats for a variety of internal or external audiences not well versed in the details of the technology.
- Ability to understand legal and regulatory requirements and business drivers and priorities.
- Proved track record on Business Intelligence reporting analytics
