Description:

Responsible for delivering an exceptional gastronomic service for our travelers in accordance with Grand Circle Cruise

Line (GCCL) standards, while contributing to a positive work environment.

Primary (Non-Exhaustive) Responsibilities:

 Practicing GCCL values

 Leading, coordinating, supporting, motivating, training, and evaluating galley team

 Monitoring and ensuring culinary service is up to the highest standards

 Responsible for organizing "mise en place", appropriate storage, and keeping of goods

 Responsible for hygiene in the galley in accordance with HACCP regulations

 Actively supporting and assisting culinary and restaurant team

 Responsible for ordering food, as well as stock and cost control together with Executive Chef

 Relieving Executive Chef during his/her absence

 Participating in extra duties (i.e. luggage and garbage handling, crew show, loading)

 Any other duties advised by the Executive Chef/Hotel Manager

For the avoidance of any doubt the Crewmember agrees that that it is a non-exhaustive list of primary duties which the Company may reasonably amend from time to time in accordance with the exigencies of the company and the vessel on which the employee is working

Skills/Qualifications:

 Culinary school diploma or basic education equivalent is preferred

 Minimum two years of experience in the field of desired position, preferably in a 4 or 5 star restaurant and/or hotel

 Cruise ship experience is a plus

 Proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills

 Fluency in English

Minimum requirements management:

•     Hands On mentality

•     Eye for quality and excellence

•     Proven leadership abilities and communication skills

•     Strong organizational and computer skills

•     Two to four years work experience in hospitality in a 4 or 5 star hotel/resort, restaurant or passenger ship

•    Fluent command of English

•     Able to replace EC during his absence

What we offer:

•     Monthly basic salary transferred to a bank account of choice

•     Tip equally shared through all crew members, average of 900 EUR per month

•     Vacation days: every month you will earn vacation days on cumulative basis, after 3-4 months you will go on vacation for 14-42 days, in average management goes on vacation two times during the season.

•     Insurance: coverage by private insurance company - Allianz.

•     Child benefit.

•     Length of the contract: months, contract is seasonal

•     Travel expenses policy: we are refunding a maximum amount of 400 EUR after regular completion of contract. Employee has to arrange the travel on his/her own and needs to submit a travel expense report with original receipts for reimbursement

•     Shared accommodation and food included free of charge

•     Internet on board: 4 GB free of charge on 1 device

•     Training period - during the training period crew member is not entitled to tip

•     Please note that all contracts issued are Maltese seafarer contracts

•     Visa fee is not refundable
