Finance Director

We are currently seeking an experienced, result driven Finance Director to join our multinational, market leader production client in Budapest.

As Finance Director - reporting into the Group CFO and the local site Managing Director - you will have end-to-end accountability (covering both controlling and accounting areas) in delivering the financial results in line with expectations. While managing a smaller (3-4 FTEs) finance team, you'll be responsible for monitoring and developing financial systems and processes, ensuring effective financial controls & reporting in compliance with the corporate policies and guidelines. You will also support the site Managing Director and the local management in facilitating decision making, ensuring understanding of financial implications in operational decisions, keeping the "big picture" in mind.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper development and daily operation of the local Finance Team
  • Ensure proper financial governance of the company: managing / overseeing accounting, controlling, budgeting / forecasting and management reporting areas
  • Ensure reporting appropriate quality and timely delivery
  • Co-leading business reviews with the company's Management Team
  • Involvement in decisions processes with key financial implications (CAPEX, budget, re-forecasting, performance monitoring, etc.)
  • Entry point on key Financial topics (insurance, pensions, etc.)
  • Identifying process development opportunities - driving necessary process & "cultural" changes within the finance department
  • Responsible for statutory / tax reporting and filling for the local legal entity
  • Country coordinator for audits with Finance scope, building / strengthening relationships with external partners, audit / chartered firms
  • Support the local management team in understanding of key financial indicators: developing financial background, accountability, connecting operational decisions with financial implications
Requirements:
  • University / college degree
  • At least 10 year's professional experience in finance with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience as Finance Director / Country CFO in industrial (production) environments
  • Deep and complex understanding of end-to-end finance: controlling, accounting, reporting, etc.
  • Strong experience in overseeing full finance scopes of a manufacturing organisations
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian
  • Demonstrated capabilities in driving financial performance turn-arounds / process developments and efficiency increasing
  • Successful track record in acting as a "change manager" / "change ambassador" in finance
