How can you make a difference?
Within the GSSC, the Business Innovation and Support (BIS) team plays a key role in supporting the rollout of digital initiatives, process improvements, and operational efficiency across various service lines.

The BIS team is seeking an intern to support demand and change management activities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business analysis, reporting, project coordination, and digital transformation within a large international organization. The intern will learn about the various business processes being performed, join various trainings and gain challenging work experience within a newly created global center.

Key Functions, Accountabilities And Related Duties/tasks

  • Support meeting organization, take notes, and help track testing progress
  • Collect and enter data into system log for tracking and monitoring
  • Help prepare basic presentations and visual summaries using charts and tables
  • Support with communication tasks, like writing emails or drafting updates
  • Assist in organizing project meetings and maintaining shared folders
  • Help track spending, prepare budget summaries, and update financial overviews
  • Assist in checking contract-related timelines and keeping databases up to date
  • Help format documents and maintain internal sites such as SharePoint
  • Provide general admin and coordination support to the BIS team as needed
  • Support other related tasks as assigned

Education
Minimum requirements:

  • Enrolled in a Master's program or have completed Bachelor's degree within the past year preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Management, Finance, Economics, or any related field is required.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.

Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; familiarity with tools such as SharePoint, Power BI, or other data/reporting tools is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize concepts, materializing into clear and concise thoughts is required
  • Managing resources to organize and manage information to achieve defined goals and optimum results is required
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively present thoughts and ideas including complex technical concepts, in a clear, concise, and readily understandable manner, both verbally and in writing are required. Listening to and acknowledging others' perspectives and views
  • Flexibility to work effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously and adapt to changing demands and circumstances
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Contract Duration and Terms

  • Applicants must be nationals of Hungary or other EU/Schengen country OR in the possession of a valid long-term Hungarian student visa/work permit at the time of application.
  • Please attach a copy of your work permit (if applicable) to the application otherwise your candidacy will not be considered in the selection process. UNICEF shall not accept responsibility or liability to act as a sponsor, or to facilitate the issuance, maintenance, renewal, extension, or conversion of the candidate's residency and/or work permit for employment purposes.
  • Individuals must fund their travel and living expenses.
  • Individuals must have proof of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination record as well as their own medical insurance covering the period of internship at the duty station
  • Individuals cannot have immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.
  • The selected candidate must be physically present during the entire internship in Budapest with flexible working arrangements. The intern will be expected to be in the office when needed for specific activities.
  • Internships are paid with a stipend of maximum net HUF 405,941 per month for full-time arrangements (40hrs/week), which will be prorated in line with attendance for part-time interns (net HUF 2,360 hourly rate). Work arrangements are based on the effective regulations of the duty station, organizational needs and schedules of the interns.
  • Full-time interns may take up to 2.5 days per month off work for any reason, including for medical reasons. The paid absence quota of part-time interns will be prorated. The stipend will be reduced for any absence beyond this quota.
