Position Overview
- A rapidly growing automotive retail operation in Budapest is seeking a highly hands-on
Business Unit Manager
to lead its
showroom and sales activities
. - This role combines
showroom leadership, sales management, and daily operational execution

. - The Business Unit Manager leads a
compact, high-impact team of 6 people
, while remaining deeply involved in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full operational ownership of showroom and retail sales activities.
- Drive annual sales volume of approx. 600 vehicles across retail and fleet channels.
- Manage the entire order-to-delivery process, including ordering, allocation, stock planning, and pricing execution.
- Oversee vehicle stock levels, ageing, availability, and turnover performance.
- Lead retail, fleet, and tender-related sales activities in cooperation with central stakeholders.
- Actively participate in customer interactions, negotiations, and deal closures.
- Lead, coordinate, and support a 6-person sales and showroom team.
- Provide hands-on guidance, daily direction, and performance oversight.
- Foster accountability, commercial discipline, and a results-oriented culture.
- Serve as the primary point of contact toward the OEM for sales planning, ordering, reporting, and operational alignment.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, reporting requirements, and commercial guidelines.
- Navigate evolving processes and priorities with professionalism, flexibility, and diplomatic communication.
- Track and analyse sales performance, stock status, pipeline, and forecasts using advanced Excel-based reporting.
- Prepare regular performance reports, business updates, and commercial analyses for management and OEM partners.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions proactively.
- Ensure smooth daily showroom operations and a high-quality customer experience.
- Coordinate closely with aftersales and logistics partners to ensure seamless delivery and handover.
- Implement pragmatic process improvements as the business scales.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive retail sales, showroom management, or comparable retail sales leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on operational background with direct involvement in day-to-day sales activity.
- Experience managing end-to-end retail operations: ordering, stock management, retail, fleet, tenders, and OEM coordination.
- Fluent English (daily working language); Hungarian is essential.
- Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, tracking, reporting, forecasting).
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing, high-growth international corporate environment, requiring adaptability, patience, and diplomatic communication.
