Qualification and Profile
• Experienced within the hotel industry and/or previous (river) cruise ship experience.
• An outstanding skills and experience in this role with an extensive hands-on experience
• Outstanding management skills, interpersonal communication and listening skills
• Strong leadership abilities and organizational skills
• Able to train crew members, able to build up the trainings within the departments and drive the change and look for operational efficiencies across the ship
• Guest focused, stress resistant, calm under pressure, resilient, team player with positive appearance.
• Open minded and flexible with high social, interpersonal and cultural competencies
• Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages such as German is an advantage.
• Professional attitude and appearance, reliable and hard-working with great team spirit
• Must work independently, good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Being representative of Scylla´s values
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Assisting Hotel manager to help completing all activities related to the operations of a hotel, ensuring the establishment works as smoothly as possible
• Responsible for the entire reception area as well as the onboard shop according to Scylla standards and supports all other hotel areas
• Responsible for the correct handling of work arising daily/per cruise/monthly according to Scylla standards
• Responsible for guest satisfaction and the corresponding ratings included monitoring guest´s feedback
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed
• Builds strong working relationships and communication with hotel staff, Head of Departments (HoD) and other departments to ensure maximum operating effectiveness and fulfilment of any need
• Assisting Hotel Manager with the meeting or conducts HoD meeting in the absence of HM
• Serving guests and visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately
• Responsible for the compliance with safety guidelines in the reception area
• Responsible for customs formalities and in port manning according to the safety regulations
• Responsible for dealing carefully with all equipment and IT-systems
• Check-in and Check-out procedure according Scylla standards
• Responsible for the correct spelling of menus, PPT and displays
• Responsible for the correct booking of goods, items in the system such as minibar, massage, hairdresser, beverages, laundry, boutique, etc.
• Responsible for the separation of garbage at the reception and also to check all departments on board
• Assist the administrative jobs from the Hotel manager per request like bookkeeping, working schedule, crew administration and other given task
• Responsible for excursions if Scylla is in charge (order of guides, busses, etc.)
• Preparation of inventories and orders of the reception department and the others
• Acceptance and control of goods delivered for the ship according the S.O.S. guidelines
• Keeps a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Responsible for team-building and team spirit at the reception area and the whole ship (role model function)
• Responsible for the working schedule of the department
• Responsible for the stock list of all beverages on board assisted with HoD
• Fair and equal treatment towards all crew on board
• Responsible for the achievement of the required target in the board boutique
• Managing and training the reception crew according to Scylla standards. Assisting with other trainings per department if necessary
• Ensures full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP´s, policies, procedures and service standards
• Building strong experience based learning in each area of the hotel ship
• Monitors maintenance progress of the ship´s condition and provide the report
• Daily team briefing and hand-over as well as training of new crew
• Support and mentor your colleagues at the reception and the other areas of the hotel
• Ensure hotel staff is provided with uniforms and name tags and the grooming standards
• Build owner loyalty through proactive communication with all internal and external colleagues and third parties
• Ensuring that all crew are continuously trained
• Assisting, representing and replacing the Hotel Manager whenever needed
• Relieving Hotel Manager during his/her vacation if necessary

➢ Additional tasks: participating/assisting with the loading, carrying the suitcases, keeping clean the messroom and your own cabin on daily basis
➢ Your purpose is to help and create a memorable experience for our guests
➢ Accommodation: shared room on board with one other crewmember (on some ships with more than one)
➢ Uniform: is provided by the company: before arrival the crewmember has to make sure to take black trousers, white shirts, black shoes with him in case the uniform isn't on board yet
➢ Demonstrate a good safety awareness and participation in the safety drills
Contract type: Swiss
Gross / Net salary: € 3.300,00 / € 2.585,85 (depending on your personal situation)
Vacation days: 90 free days per calendar year pro rata (= 7.5 days per month pro rata)
Tip money: fixed and included in the salary.
Start date: to be advised.
End date: unlimited

Travel allowance: € 75 per month
